Shame On Us 2019 Bunker Center for the Arts Recycled plastic, video
A whale swims through an ocean of plastic. Our oceans are dying.
This installation is composed of single-use plastics, collected over several months, sewn together and hung from the ceiling. Over the course of the month long installation, viewers were encouraged to add their plastic waste to the exhibition, eventually filling the floor of the room.
The viewer is forced to examine our failure as earthy inhabitants to protect our oceans and the marine life that lives, eats and breathes within it. It's a heart-wrenching installation that should hit home with all of us.
